![]() Now you've got a crosshair that doesn't vanish, bounce around or is too huge for use! Why this isn't a cheat and why Respawn needs to add custom crosshairs to Titanfall 2Īlright Respawn, we need to have a chat. You've designed a brilliant game with a wonderful movement system that has successfully scratched the itch that I haven't been able to reach since the days of Quake and Tribes. You've even graced us with wonderful design changes to the weapons from Titanfall 1 in that most - if not all of the weapons - are very accurate while hip-firing, enabling us to move and shoot freely instead of penalizing our movement, field of view or accuracy. We like going fast, we like shooting stuff, we like hitting shots, and we like being aware of our surroundings. Hipfire accuracy is key to that, and you've done a great job here. Unfortunately, one of the ways you've seemed to try to balance this is by giving some of the weapons absolutely AWFUL crosshairs. For example, the CAR and R-201C center dot vanishes when you start to fire. Titan weapons have giant circles to provide some feeling of ambiguity in your accuracy. ![]() ![]() I could point out more examples, but I think you get the idea. Some people might feel like this is an alright way to balance weapons. There is not a fast-paced FPS under the sun where screwy crosshairs feel nice or provide any degree of TRUE balance. At best, it's a skill you have to develop. At worst, it's a frustrating aspect of game design. Take a look at popular modern FPS titles like Overwatch and Counter-Strike - both of those games have crosshair customization, and people love it. The games that omit crosshair customization tend to deserve it - these are games like Arma and Battlefield, games that focus on some degree of realism. You cannot compare it to Battlefield, Arma, or even Call of Duty in many aspects. Crosshair overlay fullscreen for windows 10#. ![]()
